Do you know an Australian who lives with a disability, or even a carer, or someone else with an established connection to disability in Australia? Do you think they’d like to connect with us? Whether as a free Bronze member or as a paid Silver or Gold member.

Bronze members can access much of the material on the platform (including our internal discussion board – ‘Ask the Tribe’), including our webinars (which will commence early in 2022).

We are thrilled to have a piece about the platform included in the latest edition of the Centre for Accessibility Australia newsletter.

It is a great publication that we encourage all members of our community, followers and partners. Well done Scott and the team at the Centre. “Love ya work” and needless to say, we share your passion for accessibility, inclusion, respect and justice.

Do you know an Australian who lives with a disability, a carer or someone else with an established connection to disability in Australia? Please encourage them to join the platform as a FREE Bronze member. This will give them access to many features of the platform (Resource Library, discussion board and webinars).

Working on our discussion board

In setting up various components of the platform for our pilot testers, we have found some issues with our internal discussion board. We are working with our talented web team to iron them out and hope to have them fixed in a week.

The ‘Ask the Tribe’ is so members can ask and answer questions, share tips and share encouragement. This will be an important component of us creating, nurturing and supporting a community of practice in the Australian disability entrepreneurship space.

Finding and fixing these glitches it’s exactly why we conducting a pilot test.

Another crack with another Moreton Bay grant application

We don’t have a great hit rate with the Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Local Community Support Grant and the grant is only for $3K, but we’re going to have a crack again.

This would enable us to build the new Bronze Member area of our site. T0 his will be a free area for our community#, that will provide access to a basic version of the platform.

Discussion Board

This week, we completed testing of the internal/peer support discussion board. This is referred to as ‘Ask the Tribe’.

We also created an initial posting to the Board, which includes some prompts for members to make their own posts.

The next stage of testing for this Board is the Pilot Testing of it by our new pilot testers…

A great phone chat with Jacqueline Cannon of the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program

This week, Gary had a great Zoom chat with @Jacqueline Cannon of the BLCW Program. They discussed the goals and operation of the Program and Platform. They also discussed synergy and opportunities to collaborate.

Jacqueline was very generous with her time and the two of them discussed the NDIS, the pilot test, our Board, our Patron, Griffith University, Fiverr, funding avenues, student work opportunities and promotional videos.

In short, it was a terrific contact and we plan to continue working together. So watch this space…
