Disability Action Week

Two hands holding up a brown card that reads, "TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE".

This week is the Queensland Government’s Disability Action Week.  It is a great opportunity to reflect upon how disability entrepreneurship should be in the mix for how we approach disability employment, social engagement, dignity and respect.  In addition to being a further way to engage Australians with disability to the Australian workforce, it is a terrific way to help them become contributors to the Australian economy.

The platform will assist members to:

(i) Monetise a hobby/craft;

(ii) Establish a gig-based micro business; and

(iii) Establish a small business.

It will support members with a suite of complementary services (mentoring, peer support, a resource library, a monthly blog, monthly webinars/online events, online training and an online marketplace).  The objective being to create a community of practice in the Australian disability entrepreneurship space.  The hope being that after six months of membership individuals will have made substantive progress towards the establishment of their endeavour.  The platform will continue to support members to ensure that their endeavour to be successful, sustainable and robust.

Do you know when Australian with disability who wants to explore generating a bit more money?  Please encourage them to complete the short form below.  Or they can contact us on [email protected] or 0436 480 769 if they have any questions.
