We’re big fans of the positive role pets can play in mental health, recovery and even support.  Jo had an amazing experience of her cat warning her about a household catastrophe.

They say when you fall off a horse, the best thing to do is get back in the saddle. The first time I fell off a horse I was 11 years old. Fortunately, no damage was done so I happily jumped back on. It did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for animals.

I always knew my life would be filled with four-legged companions and their unconditional love — but little did I know that one day, it would play a pivotal part in my healing.

After leaving school at 16, I got a job as a veterinary nurse. It actually never felt like a job, more like a passion I was fulfilling. Both my heart and home were full of the pitter patter of tiny paws.
